Hello, and welcome to the moment I decided to take myself (somewhat) seriously.

The world is a beautiful, maddening place.

At times, the darkness seems to overwhelm the light. I’ve created The Beauty of the Way as a refuge—an escape from the noise and fragmentation that characterizes modern life.

When I worked in an office, I used to hide poetry behind my spreadsheets. This is a little like that—except now I’m bringing the authors and philosophers that inspire me out to play. (And I’m no longer crying in the bathroom.)

As a romantic with a deep love of learning, I hope this will be a place for deep inquiry and exploration. The humanities, philosophy, and antiquity have so many gifts to offer, if we only take the time to pause and look back.

These essays are reminders — to myself and to you — that belonging is not something we must search for. It’s here, now, and timeless.

Ancient wisdom is simple. It offers the perspective we so desperately need.
